Opened in April 2024, CASA YALI is a multidisciplinary exhibition space located on a quiet street near Palazzo Grassi, on the ground floor of the YALI GLASS studio. Conceived as an open and welcoming environment, it brings together a gallery, a café-like meeting space, and the brand’s only physical shop, all connected to the studios, offices, and private showroom above.
    Rooted in the ethos of YALI Glass—the Murano-focused brand founded by Marie-Rose Kahane in 2008—CASA YALI was conceived to dissolve the boundary between craft and contemporary art, offering a space where makers, designers, and artists can meet, exchange, and present their work. Set around a secluded courtyard garden, the space invites visitors to encounter objects, materials, and ideas in an atmosphere of calm attention.
    Since its opening, CASA YALI has developed a programme centred on experimental, material-driven practices. The inaugural exhibition brought together Martino Gamper, Francis Upritchard, Karl Fritsch, Maddalena Kind, and Marie-Rose Kahane, followed by Ceremony, the first solo exhibition by Danish glassblower Alexander Kirkeby, recipient of the Special Mention at The Venice Glass Week 2024.
    Subsequent projects include Microcosmo, a collaboration between Venice-based designers SURI and Simone Crestani; the two-month residency and exhibition Weaving Between Land and Sea by American basket-maker Deborah Needleman, presented during the 2025 Venice Art Biennale and including a collaboration with designer Margherita Issori; and a presentation of new works by Geraldina Bassani Antivari as part of The Venice Glass Week 2025.
    Our May programme, taking place alongside the 2026 Venice Art Biennale, features two exhibitions: one with Paola Petrobelli, a London-based designer whose practice explores modular, interchangeable lighting systems in glass, and one with Amy Revier. Through Revier’s project, CASA YALI expands beyond its primary space, supporting the artist with a dedicated studio where her weaving practice can continue to develop.


Since 2025, CASA YALI has also produced a series of editorial editions connected to its exhibitions. Edited by Marina Marques, curator of the space, these publications examine each artist’s practice through a focused lens, shaped by both the conceptual direction of the exhibition and the research developed behind the scenes. Current editions are distributed by Rizzoli Bookstore in New York, 10 CORSO COMO, Libreria della Natura in Milan, Librairie Yvon Lambert in Paris, 12.15 in Vilnius, Le Stanze del Vetro in Venice, and also available at CASA YALI in Venice.


CASA YALI continues to grow as both a local meeting point and an international platform, presenting exhibitions, events, workshops, and encounters that foreground the cultural value of making. It operates as a space where contemporary practice, craftsmanship, and the Venetian context come together in an ongoing and considered exchange.
